Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 November 2026

Glotta is a podcast player. It needs no account or sign-in, runs no server of its own and never sells your data.

What stays on your device

What you listen to, read and save stays on your device, and so do searches inside transcripts. AI transcription and AI translation run on the device too, so transcripts and translations never leave it.

What your device contacts

To find and play podcasts, your device connects directly to each show’s publisher, which sees your internet address as any website does. Podcast directories receive the words you search for. A pasted link from another podcast service is looked up with that service. Apple handles every payment.

Usage statistics, only if you say yes

Glotta sends usage statistics to an analytics service only if you tap Share Usage, and stops when you turn it off in Settings. They cover the features you use, errors, crashes and slow starts, your plan, and device and app details like model, system version, language and time zone. They never include what you hear, read, search or save, or your name, e-mail address or location. They are tied to a random identifier, not to you, and the service does not keep your internet address. We use them to fix problems, improve features and understand how people choose Glotta Plus, and keep them in the United States for up to one year. We cannot tell which are yours, so we cannot delete them.

E-mail updates, only if you sign up

If you sign up for e-mail updates, the service that sends our e-mails receives your address, your current plan and where you signed up in the app. Our e-mails count opens and clicks, and every one has an unsubscribe link. We keep your address until you ask us to delete it.

The analytics and e-mail services act only for us, must protect your data as well as this policy does, and receive it over encrypted connections.

When you write to us

Report a Problem opens an e-mail in your own mail app with app and device details, but no transcripts, translations, titles or searches, for you to check before sending. We use it only to help you.

Crash reports from Apple

If you allow it in your device’s settings, Apple shares crash reports with us.

Children

Glotta is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

We post changes here with a new date, and Glotta will ask you again before sharing anything new.
